Marc is professor and director emeritus of the Geisinger Genomic Medicine Institute in Danville, PA. He is a physician-researcher with a focus on implementation of genomic medicine.

He has been married to his wife, Janet, for 42 years. Janet has a master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from UW-Madison. She is almost completely retired (2021). Their older daughter has four degrees from UW-Madison and currently works in Washington, DC. Their younger daughter is married and is an elementary music teacher in Onalaska. They have two grandsons ages six and nine. The older boy wants a chemistry set for Christmas!

Marc is the president-elect of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics. He recently transitioned to emeritus status after eight and a half years as director of the Genomic Medicine Institute. He relocated to Wisconsin and works remotely. This year he passed a publication milestone, having his 200th authored peer-reviewed paper accepted for publication.
